1. I need Thee ev’ry hour. . .O bless me now, my Saviour,  I come to Thee – MBW 740. Southern Province Provincial Elders meet today. Ask God to show them His plans for our churches. Pray for the survivors of the Dec. 26 tsunamis.

2. Moravians in the Czech Republic are probably praying for us so let’s pray for them too because today is their day to be praying in the Moravian 24 hour prayer watch. Pray for nations that are helping tsunami survivors often.

3. Pray God to reveal His thoughts to Moravian ministers and Christian Education directors in their monthly meetings today at Trinity Church.

4. Miskito Bibles are all sold, no more available. Mission Board needs $25,000 to print additional copies for more than 225 Miskito churches. Pray people will contribute money.

5. Anniversary of New Hope Moravian Church in Miami (1991). Pray for them and their interim pastor, Judith Justice, that God will show them many persons that are ready to hear their testimony about Jesus.

6. TRANSFIGURATION SUNDAY – Pray for pastors summit meeting at Laurel Ridge – that God will unite them in the faith. Pray for God to guide Mark Ebert; he is preaching in Sister Bay, WI today about being changed in body and spirit for Jesus.

6. This week and next Moravians in Suriname, South America in their 24 hour long meetings will be praying for people around the world (including us); let’s also pray for them to be filled with the Holy Sprit of God.

8. Pray for Southern Province Finance Board meeting today to talk about money being given in churches for God’s work.

9. ASH WEDNESDAY – Lent begins today. Could you invite some people into your home for prayer meetings during Lent? You are also invited to hear Sr. Patty Garner at Home Church today.

10. If you don’t know what to pray about, read several Psalms and several hymns out loud and talk to God about them.

11. Pray God will inspire the young people in the Moravian youth retreat in Rolling Hills, FL today. Pray for young people in your own church too by name.

12. Today let’s pray for Covenant Church in Wilmington, NC which began in 1978 and whose pastor is Jon Peterson. Also pray for the members and interim pastor (Patty Garner) of the Good Shepherd Church in Kernersville.

13. FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT – Pray God to give New Hope Church in Newton, NC (John Rainey, pastor) many opportunities to win people for Christ Jesus.

14. In your prayers today ask God to guide our Provincial Elders (Bob Sawyer, Betsy Bombick, Donna Hurt, Tom Shelton and Richard Sides) meeting again today. From time to time pray for each elder and trustee in your congregation.

15. Ask God to reveal His truth and His plans to the leaders of the World Council of Churches meeting in Geneva, Switzerland today.

16. British Moravians are helping churches in North India, Jamaica, Tanzania and Nepal. Ask God to continue to bless them with wisdom and the joy of the Lord. Reward them with many new members.

17. Ask God to reward Moravians in the Czech Republic for their ministry to the Roma (gypsy) people and to bless Ardmore Moravians going there also as short-term missionaries.

18. Almighty God, bless the 50 Moravian congregations in the Eastern West Indies Province on 8 islands in the Caribbean as they win new people for Christ Jesus.  Also pray for the College Age Retreat (Sam Gray, leader ) in Wake Forest, NC.

19. Pray God to prosper Moravians in Alaska. Each year they raise about $15.000 for mission projects in Uzbekistan and Sudan, Christian Radio and Bible camps.

20. SUNDAY – Ask God to bless and guide your Sunday school class teacher and your pastor and to bless people sitting around you.

21. PRESIDENTS’ DAY – All leaders both local and nation-wide need our prayers. Learn the names of leaders of other countries; often pray for them, even while you read the newspapers.

22. Read as much as you can of the Book of Matthew each of the remaining days of February and talk to God a bout what He inspired to be written.

23. Pray for Carol Foltz and John D. Rights, leaders of the nominating committee for the Southern Province Synod, 2006. Specifically what do you wish God would do in our 2006 Synod?

24. Today let’s pray for the 2006 Synod’s program committee’s leaders, Chris Thore and Don Winters – that all the Synod would give glory to God.

25. Pray for the 85,000 members of West Province in Tanzania. Feb. 25 to 28th they will be praying in the prayer watch day and night for us, and all Moravians around the world. Pray for them too and their leader Bishop Isaac Nicodemo.

26. Let’s not neglect our daily prayer time just because Saturday is a busy day. Read more in the Gospel of Matthew and pray.

27. This is the day for the congregation to worship. Glory to God! O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!  Psalm 95:6.

28. Think back over February. Thank God for the gift of life His gave you. Thank Him for the blessings and the victories, and confess any sins to Him.

 

Continue to pray every day for the victims of the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean, from Indonesia to the East Coast of Africa. Pray that those not harmed continue to help them, especially in the long run of rebuilding and adjusting to the new life without many lost loved ones.
