1. Sunday – our day to worship together as a family of God. Go to 5:15 pm Mission Awareness Dinner at Bethania – Sam Gray, speaker. Lots of activity!

2. Steve Marx’s son, Brian, is to graduate from flight school this month and join Mission Aviation Fellowship to serve God overseas; he asks for prayer. Pray also for Al Gambill and the Ardmore prayer team in Honduras, coming home May 8.

3. Holy Spirit, teach me how to introduce lost people to You, to repent of sin and accept the salvation Jesus died on the cross to offer them. Moravians in Germany began to use Daily Texts, May 3, 1728. May 3, 1931 is Rural Hall Moravian’s birthday. Jim Newsome is the pastor.

4. Pray God to give enthusiasm to all Moravians in U.S.A. to worship God and to win souls for Him.  Today is Single Sisters Covenant Day.

5. Pray for Moravian ministers meeting at Trinity at 10:30 am and the Christian Education Directors that meet afterwards. Pray, too, for Moravians and Reformed Church leaders “dialoguing” today in Baltimore, MD.

6. Pray for the five nations of Central America: Guatemala, Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica – to send missionaries to serve Spanish speaking people in the U.S.A.  Today is Fairview’s birthday (1895) – pastor is Riddick Weber – and St. Philips’ birthday (1822) – pastor is Sandra Thigpen.

7. Ask God to inspire Mark Ebert who is training young people for short term mission service in Jamaica.

8. ASCENSION SUNDAY – Read Acts 1:1-14 again. Also MOTHERS DAY, and SALEM-TOWNE PRAYER DAY. Lots to pray about.

9. Read Psalms 27 and 28 out loud often this week and use some of those words when you talk to God in your daily prayer times.

10. Southern Province Financial Board meets today; Lord, guide them. Also when you read the newspaper, pray often for people mentioned in the newspaper.

11. Here’s a verse to memorize and to talk to God about: Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4.  Better yet, read all of  1 John.

12. On this date, but in 1727, Moravians adopted The Brotherly Agreement (now called the Covenant for Christian Living). Ask God to help you live by this guide for living.

13. Today ask God to guide Moravians in the Investment Seminar meeting at Laurel Ridge.  In what ways can we serve God with our money?  

14. Ask God to show Florida District Board members how the Moravian churches there could grow greatly in numbers.  Also ask God to bless each person present at the Moravian Theological Seminary graduation in Bethlehem today.

15. PENTECOST SUNDAY – Be sure to read about Pentecost again in Acts 2. Do you wish the Holy Spirit would come among us like that today?

16. Father, bless people in the Moravian Worship Conference in Harrisonburg, VA today. If you have a complete concordance, see the many verses that contain the word worship.  Teach me to worship.

17. At home look in your hymnal for hymns where the word worship appears; Sing or read some of them to God now.

18. Let’s pray today for Moravians in the Church Synod at Wawina, Honduras. Sam Gray is to be there, too.

19. Today is the birthday (2002) of the New Beginnings Moravian Church in Huntersville, NC near Charlotte – Christopher Thore, pastor. Pray God to give them joy in bringing many new persons into the church.

20. The Lord your God is with you; He is mighty to save, He will take great delight in you  He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with love.  Zephaniah 3:17. Aren’t these good words to memorize?

21. Ask God to influence the minds of all persons present at Salem College Commencement today.  Also, pray for Mark Ebert to inspire men’s group at Fulp Moravian today – as he speaks for missions.

22. TRINITY SUNDAY – Holy Trinity, we confess with joy that our life and whole salvation flow from Christ’s blest incarnation and His death for us on the shameful cross. Today also is Prayer Day for Outdoor Ministries.

23. Read 1 Peter, chapter 2. Pray God to protect us from anything that might destroy our faith in Him and His Word.

24. Macedonia Moravian’s birthday. Br. F.F. Hagen, composer of Morning Star, preached first sermon in this area in Cope’s Schoolhouse on September 16, 1854, and the church building was dedicated May 24, 1856, according to Louise Kapp’s history.  

25. Birthday (1986) of Faith Moravian Church of our Nation’s Capital – pastor is Edward Turner.  Pray God to bless them.

26. Love everybody but not their sins. Look for the word Truth in your bible concordance. Avoid whatever weakens your faith.

27. Father, show me someone with whom I can share our faith today.

28. Pray God will glorify Himself in Salem Academy graduation today. Inspire graduates with a Christ-like passion to serve others.

29. THE LORD’S DAY – To Your temple, Lord, I come, for it is my worship home.
