PRAYER FOCUS - NOVEMBER 2005

Disaster Response

Disasters always stir our emotions as they touch our hearts.

Yet, even the deepest and most sincere emotions can start to “grow cold” after awhile –

we just can’t maintain the emotional level forever.

But the Apostle Paul’s admonition to

“pray without ceasing”

means that we need to keep on praying even after the initial feelings may have passed.

Prayer can keep us focused and keep us connected to situations that need our attention.

May our time spent in prayer awaken us to the ongoing needs around us,

and open our hearts to what God might want us to do in response to those needs.
