PRAYER FOCUS

February 2003 – GIFT OF THE HEART KITS PROJECT

The following letter was sent in appreciation for what the Moravian Church has done in providing Gift of the Heart Kits in abundance. The very successful project has been led by the hard work and persistence of many people, inspired by Br. Bill Campbell, who has labored hard and cajoled many to produce these Gifts of the Heart Kits as prayers with hand and heart. This social service has touched the live of many around the world.                                      JHG

Dear friends in Christ,

On behalf of all Gift of the Heart Kit recipients, we at Church World Service send an abundance of heartfelt thanks to you of the Moravian Church…for your loving acts of kindness. It is because of caring people like you that life will be a little more comfortable for those in need. We thank you again, Moravian Church…for your devotion to your neighbors around the corner and around the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me… (St. Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)

Sincerely,

Here is Br. Bill’s latest communication:

PLEASE... print out and give to your KIT builders, Women's Fellowship groups, etc.

Surely hope your holidays were pleasant.  Now that 2002 and the busy Advent season is behind us, it is time to think of KITS... To date, we have delivered more than 16,200 to Church World Service.  My dream is that we take another 8800 this year, which will bring us up to 25,000.

Our next trip will be March 27 - 30.  I have been asked to make a presentation in Lancaster Pa about what you of the Southern Province have done.  That will be on the 29th of March.  I hope to tell them that I dropped off 2,000 the day before.

Remember, if your church, youth, circles, men's group, etc cannot make kits, they can fund other groups that do.  Please make your checks payable to Moravia Missions Fund and drop in the mail to me.  I then go shopping and get youth to put the kits together.

Call me when you have KITS available and I'll advise you where to take them.  Please do not take them to Gail Walker’s office.

Blessings -
