PRAY Every Day JUNE, 2003

1. ASCENSION SUNDAY Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Read your Daily Textbook before going to church. Bless teachers and preachers. Junior Camp I at Laurel Ridge begins.  Pray for children.

2. Pray for older Ardmore young people, They are raising money, praying, being trained to witness for Christ in a very poor area among gypsies and others of the Czech Republic. They go there June 25. Pray for other workcrews in these difficult times in the world.

 as they prepare to help and share their faith.

3. Continue praying for Ardmore youth, youth pastor Jason Clubb , wife Renee, leaders Carrie Pritchard and Marolyn Schauss.  Among young people going are Travis Bragg, Cameron Fox, Travis McCutcheon, Ashlyn Means and Sarah Meritt.

4. In 2002 Moravian Miskito pastors in Honduras started five new congregations among Garifuna people. Pray God to help them pass their faith to people needing Christ.

5. Pray the Holy Spirit will move this morning among the pastors and Christian Education directors in their monthly meeting at Advent.

6. Today is the birthday (1954) of the Moravian Church in Downey, CABishop Hopeton Clennon is their pastor.  Pray they will find newly awakened souls to bring to Jesus.

7. Pray today for Charity Johnson (New Philadelphia) getting training and raising support to go this summer for four years with Campus Crusade to Asia. Lift up all missionaries around the world as political tensions are high and danger lurks on every country in this time.

8.  PENTECOST  - Spend times at home in prayer before going to church. Ask God to pour the Holy Spirit on you and your congregation and other churches,

9. Moravian Music Festival began yesterday on Salem College campus – ends June 14.  Praise God for giving us music and voices. Often at home sing some prayers to God.

10. Michael and Caroline Woo (Ardmore) also preparing for their first four year term with Overseas Missionary Fellowship International (www.us.omf.org).

11. Grace Evangelical Brethren have over 610 churches in Central African Republic. They’ve suffered terrible losses.  Pray for them.  The French army has come to restore order.

12. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have in Christ. 1 Peter 5:15. Father, teach us to do this.

13. Pray for Charles and Batsuk Beasley.  Chuck is from Rural Hall Church of Christ and Batsuk grew up in Mongolia.   They returned to Mongolia recently serving Christ with Team Expansion Mission.

14. FLAG DAY -  Pray for  the leaders of our nation.  Also for Moravians on St. Kitts where missionaries arrived in 1777. Lord, make them great soul winners.  Pray for  seven adults from New Philadelphia going to work and witness in Jamaica at Camp Hope.

15. TRINITY SUNDAY – (Father’s DayJunior Camp II begins today at Laurel Ridge. Pray also for children in your Sunday school at  home.

16. Unity Chairman Musomba reports that Gambia,

Zimbabwe, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya and Mozambique

people have asked Tanzania Moravians to send missionaries to them,.  Remarkable!  Praise God! Many opportunities to serve Christ!

17. Moravians began to build Herrnhut, Germany on this date in 1722.  Today let’s pray for Moravians in Germany and for neighboring countries. Pray for Br. Gordon Sommers as he guides the BWM in his interim.

18. Pray for the more than 850 persons enrolled in Moravian Women’s Conference at Wake Forest University today through 21st. Pray for those coming from all over the world as they travel. At 6:30 pm Labrador missionary Sam Propsom to speak at Ardmore.

19. Mark Thomas (New Philadelphia) going today to Brazil with Brentwood Baptist Church (Tennessee) short-term mission team. Pray God will give them many opportunities to witness for Christ.

20. Birthday (1932) of Hopewell,  Moravian Church; Jeff Carter, pastor. Pray for them as they continue their interest in missions. Also pray for Moravians in Alaska and their mission work in eastern Siberia.

21. What language shall I borrow to thank Thee, dearest Friend, for all Thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end. O should I leave Thee ever, then do not Thou leave me.

22. THE LORD’S DAY – Prayer Day for Outdoor Ministries.  God, please give me a spirit of worship. Today is the birthday (1924) of Advent Moravian, NC, Church; Tripp May, pastor. 1st Church Greensboro has a work crew going to Laurel Ridge today for Mission Camp III to work with needy folks near the camp through the 27th.

23. Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for Him.  Today read Psalm 37 and talk to God about the words He inspired there. Remember the Moravians in Managua, Nicaragua who conduct a clinic three days a week for the needy.

24. Today pray for Celeste Handy, full time missionary for Christ among Native Americans in Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque, NM.

25. Birthday (1876) of Fries Memorial Moravian Church; Stuart Zimmerman, pastor.  Let’s pray for them today.

26. God inspired Paul to write, It has always been my ambition to preach the Gospel where Christ was not known. Romans 15:20. Use us, dear Lord, to reach people who still need the Gospel.

27. Today let’s pray for the approximately 12 million people living in Mali, Africa, a very poor Muslim nation where Christians are welcome. Only 2% of Mali is Christian.

28. Father, I believe that by my own reason and strength I cannot believe in Jesus Christ or come to Him but that Thy Holy Spirit calls me and sanctifies me, cleanses me and preserves me in Thy true faith. Talk to God about what you read in the Easter Litany.

29. Dear God, fill our hearts with Thy love and make our bodies Thy holy temples.  Br. John G. Rights to be made a presbyter today.  Today also is Ardmore’s birthday (1924), Kevin Frack is pastor.

30. Lord Jesus, come; we wait in faith for Thee.  Soon, we implore Thee, come; Thy glory let us see. Glory be to
