PRAYER FOCUS November 2003 THE MORAVIAN MEDICAL CLINIC IN AHUAS, HONDURAS |
|
|
I am writing to inform you of the start of a project to help bring the Moravian Medical Clinic in Ahuas, Honduras up to the 21st century. The buildings of the campus have served them well, but the time has come to reconstruct some of these buildings out of material that will last. Wooden structures will be replaced by concrete ones. There will also be major work done on the water system and the roofs of existing buildings. This work will start January 2004. This project is going to have short and long term goals and be ongoing for years to come. The BWM has voted to start the project with a donation, but it encourages any and all churches or individuals that feel led to help with financial contributions. I will be sending you more information about dates and times. I ask that you begin to advertise these opportunities in your district so that people can begin to pray about their willingness to serve. The trips will be two weeks in length and will cost approximately $1,200 - $1,500 each. The cost depends on how much an individual wants to spend over and above airfare and the $8 per diem for room and board. Your origination point in the U.S. will also affect the cost. You will be expected to give your people spiritual and cross-cultural training in advance of their trip. I have found that crews have a greater rate of success and fulfillment after being trained for service. Please contact me if you need more material or ideas for training. My prayer is that people have been waiting to hear of an opportunity to go into all the world and be a witness for Christ. This will be that opportunity! Lord, please add your blessing to the work so that it does not become a work of man but will be a way that many will be healed and that Christ will be preached to the lost. Father, glorify your name in all we say and do so that the Body may be built up and souls would be saved. In Jesus name, amen.
