1. Give glory to God. Do not be anxious about anything. Pray for pastors and Sunday school teachers.  Lord God, give us a sense of Your presence today.  This month a new president of the Moravian Unity Board is to be elected.

2. Pray for Drs. Tim and Anne Schenz, members of the Promise Moravian Church in Lewis Center, OH. They serve with Frontiers Mission (www.frontiers. org) to bring the Good News of Jesus to Muslim people.

3. Pray for Br. Sam Gray who will soon be living in Winston-Salem to serve Christ with Moravian BWM. Pray also for Br. David Geyer and Br. Joe Moore returning from China today.  Pray for the pastors they taught there.

4. Pray for the Christians in the Kingdom of Nepal on India’s northern border.  Half a million Christians are there now but a short while ago there were none.  Nepal has much terror and political upheaval and suffering. Pray for the Moravian Church in Katmandu.

5. Ask God to fill minds of Moravian ministers with love for Jesus and love for people and Godly wisdom as they meet today at 10 am at Friedland.

6. For the next 21 days, in addition to your regular devotions, could you read a chapter of John’s Gospel and talk to God about each chapter? Today pray for Ray Griggs’ mission work in Honduras.

7. Today pray God to guide Southern Province women meeting to plan for the year ahead. Emma Gordon is their new president.

8. SUNDAY-Behold us, Lord, a little space from daily tasks set free and met within Thy holy place to rest a while with Thee.

9. Forsyth County public schools begin again today. Spirit of God, be present in every classroom.

10. Provincial Financial Board meets today.  Pray for them by name: Ted Leinbach, Gary Kniskern, Elizabeth Ayers, Michael Ernst, Bob Sawyer, Rick Sides, and Wayne Shugart.

11. Sad conflicts continue among Moravians in the Czech Republic and in Honduras.  Almighty God, give them Your wisdom and love and peace.  Rather, grant that to us also.

12. Pray by name for Provincial Elders Bob Sawyer, Tom Shelton, Rick Sides, Betsy Bombick, Donna Hurt and assistant to the president Bob Hunter meeting today. Tomorrow is the birthday of Clemmons Moravian Church (1900). Br. Ray Burke is the pastor.

13. On this date the Holy Spirit came upon Moravians in Germany in 1727 and filled them with enthusiasm to take the Good News of Jesus and His salvation to people who had not heard. Pray for this to happen again today.

14. Jesus said He would suffer so that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations. Praise Him often for this.

15. THE LORD’S  DAY. Pray God’s Presence will be felt among Moravians of Peace Moravian Church in Charlotte as they dedicate their church building to Him today.

16. Lord Jesus Christ, help us to spread Your Good News in the places where we live and work and study.

17. Little Girls Covenant Day. In 1727 after Aug. 13 there was a spiritual revival among the children in Herrnhut. Today pray for little children everywhere!

18. Pray for Michael Brent (Friedland Moravian) family flying back to Croatia today to continue to witness to people who need the Savior, Christ Jesus.

19. Bishops of northern and southern U.S.A Moravian provinces meet at Marquart Village, Watertown, Wisconsin.  Pray God to guide them to defend the faith and guide them to share the faith with others.

20. Today (and often) let’s pray God will guide us to elect public officials to govern us; officials that God will be pleased with. God knows the hearts of people.

21. Use your Bible and hymnal in your daily prayer times, also paper and pen to write down ideas God puts into your mind as you pray. Aug. 21, 1732 - first Moravian missionaries arrived on St. Thomas in West Indies.

22. Our day of joy and gladness to worship the Savior.

23. Caroline Woo is studying Mandarin Chinese to enhance her ministry in China.  Pray for daily strength as she faces this difficult challenge. Michael Woo is her husband and Samuel is their son.

24. Today pray for Charlie Brent (Michael’s brother) who is encouraging Chinese students at A&M University in Texas to accept Christ and win people for Christ in China and nearby nations. Great numbers are accepting Christ in China.

25. Ask God to help you talk about Jesus in your neighborhood and in your work place.

26. Pray for Hope Moravian Church, W-S.–begun in 1780.  Their birthday is today. Br. David Merritt, their pastor. Pray for Promise Moravian in Lewis Center, OH (begun 2001). Br. Darryl Bell, pastor.

27. 1727 – Moravians began praying 24 hours each day. Spend time with the Lord; tell Him what you enjoy in His world.

28. Let’s pray for the Adult Mission Camp that begins tomorrow at Laurel Ridge; they plan to help nearby poor people.

29. SUNDAY-Lord Jesus, glory be to Thee in Thy church which waits for Thee.  This is Public Education Day.

30. Pray for Robert and Anne Thiessen, teaching Mixtec Indian people to start their own churches in the Oaxaca area of Mexico.

31. Almighty God, fill our hearts with Thy love and make our bodies Thy holy temples. Come back soon, Lord Jesus.
