1. Pray at the time of your day when you are most alive. Pray the Holy Spirit will be present in the monthly Ministry meeting at 10:30 am and the Educators’ meeting at 12:30 today at Friedland Moravian Church. 2. Continue to pray peaceful progress for Iraq’s people. Lord, let our troops come home. Deliver Muslim people from the belief that they will go to heaven if they kill an unbeliever. 3. Grant peace to Israel and surrounding nations. Pray, too, for the 5 1/2 million people in land-locked Laos near Vietnam. Christians have suffered much there. 4. THE LORD’S DAY – Ask God to inspire choirs, pastors, Sunday school teachers. Continue reading a chapter each day in 1st and 2nd Peter and talk to God about His teachings. Junior High camp begins today at Laurel Ridge. 5. Ask God to inspire a spirit of decency and modesty to return to our nation and influence children and adults to forsake lewd and immodest behavior. Also protect persons of all ages from pornography. 6. Pray for courage to stand up for the faith like John Hus who was born July 6, 1369 and martyred on July 6, 1415. Reading Scripture aloud and singing hymns at home will strengthen your faith. 7. Pray for upcoming Lay Seminary at Laurel Ridge. Br. Wayne Burkette is the leader. 8. Ardmore Youth Pastor Jason Clubb is leading another group of older young people back to the Czech Republic to witness for Christ and evangelize. They return home July 22. Pray they will strengthen many in the faith. 9. Ask God to guide Northern and Southern Provincial Elders meeting until July 11 at Laurel Ridge and show them His plans for His churches. 10. Pray for Br. Robert Wolfe since 1995 a chaplain of the jail and prison in Winston-Salem, as he counsels many of the 18,000 persons that pass through prison in Winston-Salem each year. 11. OUR DAY TO WORSHIP GOD with the congregation. Senior High youth meet at Laurel Ridge. Pray for Charity Johnson; in Asia, she has helped several persons to accept salvation from Christ. 12. Ask God to fill the members of the 24 Moravian congregations in Alaska with eagerness to save lost souls. Tomorrow is anniversary of first Moravian missionaries arriving in Alaska (1885). 13. In Tabora, Tanzania, representatives from each of the four Moravian provinces will meet with some from the Congo, Zambia, Malawi and French Guyana. Lord, help them to know Thy plans for the churches. 14. Birthday of Trinity Moravian Church (1912) – Br. Robert Rierson is the interim pastor. Almighty God, show them thy plan for the church Give them the joy of the Lord too. 15. Pray for Divine Healing in
the Southern Province. |
17. Today pray for the whole Moravian denomination in addition to your local church – that God will show us His desires for all Moravian provinces. 18. THE LORD’S DAY – let’s worship Him together. Pray for Crooked Oak Moravian Church; yesterday was their birthday (1927). Their leader is Br. Gary Easter (acolyte). 19. Let’s pray for Tony and Dora Bragg witness for Jesus Christ in the country of Jordan. And for Michael and Carolyn Woo in east Asia. 20. Is your heart heavy? Sing. Do you have a hymn book at home? Tell your friends where you find Christian radio music. Avoid music that weakens your faith in God. 21. Pray for preparations to be made for the Southern Province Moravian Synod to be held in 2006. Look over last Sunday’s church bulletin and see prayer needs. 22. Today let’s pray for Moravians in the 43 main congregations and 305 preaching stations in the Rukwa province in Tanzania; their leader is Br. Donald Sowalozi, living in Sumbawanga. 23. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, I believe You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Use me to help others believe. Today pray for the elders in your congregation. 24. Today pray for the Trustees in your church and the leaders of the women’s circles. Mention their names to God. Sometimes pray out loud. 25. Thank God for Sunday. Pray! Take a neighbor to church. Your Heavenly Father loves to hear you pray. 26. Moravian Unity Youth Conference begins in Mandeville, Jamaica until Aug. 7. Four persons allowed to come from each province. Pray God to touch young people with the Holy Sprit. 27. Pray for our 3 Moravian fellowships in Florida: Tampa (Frederico Velasquez), Sarasota (Braulio Nicasio), Miami (Alfred Yorks). May God strengthen them in the faith and help them to bring many more people to Christ Jesus. 28. Pray for Br. Ofreciano Julias, pastor of both the Palm Beach Church and the New Covenant Fellowship. 29. Remember the thousands of Moravians who live in Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica in Central America. Pray for the pastors, lay pastors and teachers in the many schools. 30. In today’s newspaper can you find things to pray about? Lord Jesus, come; we wait for Thee. Son of God, we implore Thee, come; Thy glory let us see. 31. First Moravian missionaries arrived in Labrador in 1752. Pray for Br.Sam and Sr. Debbie Propsom serving the church now. Help them as they train leaders for the church of the future.
