In the last issue of ONWARD you were introduced to the work of the Danish Mission Board. As a follow-up, here are the missionaries sent out by BDM, as well as a brief description of the work they are doing, so that we can pray for them all by name: Serving in the Moravian Church Western Tanzania: Lisbeth and Dr. Steen Møllgaard Andersen, nurse and medical doctor, Sikonge Hospital Leprosy, since 2002. Kirsten Thomsen, teacher at Lusangi Bible College, Sikonge since1970. Britta and Rev. Robert Andersen and their 4 children, teacher at Lusangi Bible College, Sikonge since 2005. Helene Göbel, teacher, secretary for the women’s work of the province, Tabora since 2004. Sr. Ingrid and Br. Jørgen Markussen, evangelists and teachers in Usukuma, Mwanza, since 2003, formerly serving a total of 13 years in MCWT. Birthe and Kaj Bruun, teacher, senior volunteer, evangelistic work Kigoma, Lake Tanganyika Mission Province,
Serving in the Moravian Church Rukwa Province: Br. Knud Elmo Knudsen, teacher, evangelist Kipili, Lake Tanganyika since 1999. Merete and Erland Stubkjær (medical doctor, ph.d and engineer) and their 5 children: Lake Tanganyika Primary Health Care Project. Karin and Ole Weber, Future and Hope street childrens’ project, Sumbawanga, senior volunteers.

Total: 11 missionaries, 4 senior volunteers, 13 young volunteers.
Other Projects and involvements of the BDM:
Moravian Church in Western Tanzania: Support of Sikonge Hospital Leprosy Unit, Sikonge Bible College, Church buildings in Usukuma.
Moravian Church Rukwa Province Tanzania: Support of TEE training, Street Children’s Project, Lake Tanganyika Primary Health Care Project, carpentry school, Moravian Church Conference Centre, Financial Advising.
Democratic Republic Of Congo: Connections between the Worldwide Unity and the Moravian Church in the Congo.
Albania: Support 9 groups of children, youth and women and a few men. Total number of people involved app. 500, financial support, materials, education through volunteer educators from Denmark, emergency aid. |
