PRAYER FOCUS
JULY 2006

The Nain Youth Experience

This past May,

Rev. Chris Giesler (Bethlehem, PA),

Pastor David Nanalook (Alaska)

and Brother Loren Jendro (BWM director from North Dakota)

traveled to Goose Bay and Nain, in Labrador, to meet with church and community leaders to plan the “Nain Youth Experience.”

From June 27th to August 5th, 2006,

a team of 5 people will travel to Labrador to live with the people,

establish friendships and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the youth of Nain.

The goal is to help them to turn to Jesus in HOPE rather than to the HOPELESS alternatives of

drugs, alcohol, sex, abuse or suicide.

The group will be planting the seeds

and then praying that the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of youth in Nain

so that they can receive the love of the Savior.

Pray for team members:

·        Team leader, Rev. Joe Moore (co-pastor of First Moravian Church, Stone Mountain, Georgia, and a director of the Board of World Mission)

·        Sister Sayward Green ( a student at Moravian Theological Seminary)

·        Brother Brad Wanhewicz (a student at Moravian College)

·        Sister Rebecca Angstadt (a student at Moravian College)

·        Sister Jessica Jonas (a student at Moravian College)

Also pray for:

·        Teresa Haynes (a social worker from Home Moravian Church)

who will be working and ministering to people in Hopedale, Labrador, this summer.

·        Sue Gehris (from Coopersburg Moravian)

who will be doing the same in Makkovik, Labrador, this summer.

Praise:

Give thanks to God for a grant of $30,000 from the Canadian Bible Society

that will make possible a more modern translation and updated version

of the Bible in Inuktitut.
