(We often complain about our smallness, but I include this report about a small group in Canada so you can see what a small group can do. Because of the small group’s influence, the Canadian Bible Society just gave $30,000 to have the Bible printed in the Innuktitut language.)

Minutes of the 24th ANNUAL MEETING of the

Program

Theme:  “A Century of Canadian Moravian Involvement in Missions”

Mr. Joel Henkelman, from Kenai, Alaska was the guest speaker.  Joel shared many interesting stories on the work of his parents, Pauline and Clarence, who dedicated 30 years (1948-1978) to mission work in Alaska, primarily at the Moravian Children's Home—how they got into mission work, how it impacted their family, and some aspects and illustrations of the effect which their service in Alaska had on the people whom they served.

Joel highlighted his presentation with the showing of a DVD entitled “Let the Children Come.   It was most inspiring and informative as it gave us the story and history of the Moravian Children's Home in Alaska.

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm.
