Announcement of New Interim Pastor
We are
excited to announce that Bishop Chris Giesler will be serving as the new interim Moravian pastor at Bethabara Moravian, effective immediately. The Provincial Elders Conference, acting as the
executive board of the congregation, has decided after much prayer and careful consideration, to extend this call and are so glad that Bishop Giesler has accepted and agreed to help during this
transition. He will be preaching beginning Sunday, May 3.
As Moravians, the Essentials that define
our Church are that "God Creates; God Redeems; and God Sanctifies; and we respond with Faith, Love and Hope. Beyond these essentials, we believe, "in non-essentials, liberty; and in all
things, Love." It is in that spirit of love - for you, for your congregation, for the Moravian Church, and for our Lord Jesus Christ -- that we move forward. The steps the PEC is taking
are necessary to ensure the stability and long-term vitality of the Bethabara congregation as a Moravian Church.
Please join
us for Bishop Giesler's first sermon this Sunday as we welcome him and celebrate a new chapter in the life of Bethabara Moravian Church. In the near future, the PEC and Bishop Giesler will hold a
Church Council for all Bethabara members who wish to remain a part of this beloved congregation in order to answer your questions and discuss our plans for the future.
We want to thank Luke Bell for his service, and
we wish him well in his future endeavors.
Thank you for your continued presence and
prayers.
Sincerely,
The Rev. Dr. Cornelius (Neil) Routh
